A new year, and indeed a new decade is the ideal time to make some changes to your wardrobe. Combine that with the fact that most items are on sale and you have the perfect excuse to add a few new items to freshen up your wardrobe for the coming year.
The changes don't need to be huge, just take a small side step from what you normal wear to shake things up a bit. Here are some easy ideas for you to start with - hurry though, these things are selling out fast in the sales!
Most of the time, I'm making subtle changing to client's wardrobes. It's not necessarily about having the big "ta-da....male makeover moment" but about introducing you to small changes that make a difference. This could be by using more colour, pattern, different shapes or a better fit.
Here I've picked out 3 shirts with slightly different collar styles that you may not have tried before, but which may add some variety to your wardrobe and not just feel like you've bought yet another generic pale blue or white shirt.
Pantone have declared "Living Coral" to be the colour of the year for 2019. So if one of your New Year's Resolutions was to add more colour to your wardrobe, then here are some suggestions in the colour of the year!

The sales are a great time to update your basics. Here I've chosen some simple items that wouldn't go amiss in most guys wardrobes.
However, each person is different and if you don't think these are for you, have a think about what your basics would be and stock up on those in the sales. It may be a camel roll neck rather than a charcoal crew, or a duffel coat rather than a peacoat, but whatever it is it should be something you know you'll wear over and over again and it goes with lots of things you already have in your wardrobe. It won't necessarily be the most exciting thing you buy this year but don't fall into the trap of buying something offbeat just because it's reduced and then never wearing it.
Who doesn't love a bargain from time to time? If you have a favourite brand then it's definitely worth finding out if they have a sale store or have a sample sale from time to time. It's sometimes a little tricky to find out about them as they're not obviously advertised on the brands websites so I've given you a helping hand with a round up two sale stores and a website with up to date info on sample sales that I think it's definitely worth having on your radar:
Whilst searching the sales for some snug sweaters to see you through the rest of the winter, I took a little inspiration from some stylish leading men. See below to see who inspired me and where to buy the modern day version of their knitwear.
