Summer shoes for men
Share
Do you have a blind spot when it comes to buying summer shoes and can't think of what on earth to get? Many men do, and I frequently see this as a gap in their wardrobes, so it's something I'm often shopping for with clients.
Here are some suggestions I've gathered to give you ideas and inspire you, so hopefully when the sun puts in another appearance, you and your feet will be ready and waiting.
As always, do let me know if you have any questions on what to get, just email me here and I'll get right back to you.
A pair of deck shoes is a classic choice for summer but these come with a bit of a twist. A collaboration between Sebago & Universal Works, the multi-colour base comes with a choice of detachable fringing too. So you can switch the yellow, for a sand or stone colour on the days you'd prefer to look just that little bit more understated. Wear with navy shorts, grey jeans or stone chinos.
Sebago x Universal Works Portland deck shoes - Universal Works - £165
Looking for something in between trainers and espadrilles? Look no further.....these beautiful suede espadrilles will make a great addition to your summer beach wear or city smart casual wardrobe. The blue will go with everything, the suede is summery, and the sole sporty.....wear them with shorts and a polo shirt to picnics, jeans and an unstructured cotton blazer for casual drinks, and swimshorts and a t-shirt for the beach.
Cobalt blue suede espadrilles - Mulo at Mr Porter - £135
If you need a change from getting your billionth pair of Converse, then check these out by Japanese brand "Shoes Like Pottery" as an alternative. Love that subtle detailing of coloured sole and wax stamp logo too, don't you?
Off white low top trainers - Shoes Like Pottery at End Clothing - £109
And if you'd like something open but elegant then these are for you. Sleek and simple for the guy who likes to style himself in an elegant, classic way, these are exactly the type of thing I can imagine Bond wearing for one of his beach capers.....as far as I know, they have no secret gadgets hidden in them...but you can always imagine.
Fab Line Footbed sandal in blue leather - Russell & Bromley - £110
Are linen trousers and ultra fine cotton shirts, more your jam? Then pick these Arizona double strap sandals, to go with your slightly hippyesque tendencies towards earthy colours, grandad collars and flowing cotton scarves.
Arizona taupe suede sandal - Birkenstock at Trunk Clothiers - £75
Hate shopping and would prefer someone else took control and advised which items to try and how to wear everything? This is the latest review I got from a customer I took shopping recently:
"Sarah was absolutely fantastic. Her professionalism was exceptional. The wardrobe edit was a much needed cull! But it also gave me the confidence to reconsider neglected items.
I was so impressed by our shopping day together. Sarah had spent a lot of time checking out the shops the day before which saved a lot of time and work. In many ways I think it actually saved me money because Sarah gave me the confidence to buy items which were not always that expensive but looked very good on me.
Sarah also kept on reminding me that I should not only get things I liked but items that I needed. This is a very helpful mindset for me. Sarah also encouraged me towards colours that I wouldn't typically have the courage to wear. The clothes we got are still very much me but just an improved version of myself. I am very happy."
If this sounds good to you and you'd like to do the same, then you can book in here or get in touch if you'd like to discuss what you'd like to get:
