It's shorts season.....or at least I thought it was until I looked out the window and discovered it's raining. But with any luck you're going away somewhere warm and sunny, and you'll be needing to update your shorts.
Standard chino shorts are a go-to option for most, and I've chosen here the ones that I know have a slight variation in fit, and that I've bought with past customers on their menswear personal shopping trips.
I've been having a "linen-fest" with my clients on summer personal shopping trips for men! We've bought linen trousers, shirts, suits, t-shirts etc, so I thought I'd do a round up on here of some lovely linen pieces I found on sale at Mr Porter.
You might love or hate the crumpled effect of it, but there's no denying it's cool and comfortable to wear in summer. If you hate the creased look, then opt for a blended fabric instead which will help to disperse the wrinkling, but if you love it....then snap these pieces up whilst you can!
As summer is suddenly upon us, I've been tasked with finding clients some casual summer shoe options, that they can wear here, and for going on holiday. Mostly they prefer a closed in shoe, over sandals but want a change from trainers.......though I snuck a pair in here as sometimes you just can't beat them!
Here's what I've been recommending and clients have been buying on our personal shopping trips.....
Having recently written a blog post for Menswear Style on how to choose an outfit if you’re a guest at a wedding, I thought I’d follow it up here and show you a couple of examples of outfits I’ve put together for my clients on personal shopping trips for men recently.
I’ll talk you through how we made up the outfits and what I think makes them suitable for a wedding.
Not sure if the weather here in the UK is ever going to catch up with what month it is - I mean it's May and some days it's still been quite nippy.....what you need is some pastel knits!
Click through to see what I've chosen, to work now, and on summery evenings when you need another layer, plus you might even surprise yourself by loving a new colour, that's not navy or grey :-)
The day I decide to look for some Spring jackets to write about, is the day that it snows! In March! I'm sure Spring is coming soon though, so let's get ahead of the game shall we? Here's my pick of jackets for this Spring.......
You may have been away already but if the weather is set to continue like this in the UK, then it's worth stocking up on these very lightweight items for summer.......
I've been shopping the sales with clients in the past few weeks and updating holiday wardrobes aplenty! When you're going short sleeved, you can't beat a camp collar, which is the style I've concentrated on here.......
Have you been giving short shrift to your shorts this summer?! Time to sort that out and here's how. Scroll through my recommendations below, click, buy, wear and wait for the compliments to roll in! Simples!........
As people are catching up on the weddings that were planned 2 years ago, and going to summer events now things are pretty much back to normal, I've spent quite a lot of time researching beige linen and cotton suits recently!.......
If there's one thing I can guarantee I'll get asked about at this time of year, it's summer shoes. Whether it's to go with a linen suit for a wedding, to wear everyday with lighter coloured chinos and a casual blazer or to wear with shorts on holiday.......this is what I've been shopping for recently with clients......
Wider leg trousers have been creeping back into fashion for a few years now, and though I'm still mainly sticking to slim fits with my clients, I feel some of them could be ready to move on. So here I've been experimenting with putting some looks together using a pair of wide leg chinos.........
