Men's pastel knitwear for Spring Summer 2023

Not sure if the weather here in the UK is ever going to catch up with what month it is - I mean it's May and some days it's still been quite nippy. The problem is, you don't want to look like you've still got your winter clothes on, even if you'd like to be wearing them because it's cold enough (or is that just me?!).
So if you've only got dark coloured knitwear in your wardrobe, how about adding in some pastel knits? They'll be great to wear now, and also on summery evenings when you need another layer. And you might even surprise yourself by loving a new colour, that's not navy or grey :-)
Does it make you feel more at ease, if I describe this as sand, or warm beige instead of the 'pastel yellow' on the Mr Porter site? It's very "Jules et Jim" (they have the best jumpers in that film!) with the chunky knit and wide collar, which gives it a bit of a retro feel. Wear it with some of Drake's high waisted side pocket jeans, or a pair of 501s and loafers to continue that look. And plus, who doesn't love a half zip sweater for its easy temperature regulating qualities?

This dusky pink colour doesn't suit everyone but when it does, it's a beautiful and elegant colour to wear. (And if you don't know what suits you, book in with me for a Colour & Style Consultation). Mix it with navy, black, beige, or chocolate brown or if you're feeling brave, go for tan to match the flecks of orange it has in it. Throw a workwear jacket on top and it'll instantly update your weekend look.

One of my clients came along with a request from his teenage daughters to look less 'dad'! He'd previously bought one of these polo shirts and they'd passed the "non-dad" test so we stocked up on a few more.
The details that make it different are subtle but nice - the open buttonless neckline, the ribbed hem so you can wear it untucked, and the cotton and silk mix knit. You can easily wear it with jeans and Converse or it would also look good for smart/casual occasions with tailored linen trousers and loafers.

There's only a few of these left in size S, but I wanted to include it in my selection as I really liked the stone washed effect which gives it that worn in look, along with the ribbing. You won't feel so self conscious wearing a pastel shade like this pale purple, when it doesn't look brand new and bright. You can chuck this on with jeans and desert boots, shorts and Birkenstocks, or linen trousers and Converse. I can just see this walking along a beach in Cornwall or on the streets of Camden.

If the sky's not playing ball and looking as blue as it could, then reach for this sky blue cashmere knit to show it how it's done! As you can see from the image above, it mixes perfectly with navy and white, so it'll be easy to slot into your wardrobe and become a staple for years to come. It'll look divine with denim, great with grey, and brilliant with beige!
Light cashmere crew neck sweater in sky blue - Fedeli at Trunk Clothiers - £500
